ENGLISH in Year 4

Summer 1

This term, our new English topic is based on the beautiful picture book Where the Forest Meets the Sea. Through exploring this story, pupils will develop their ability to build rich and varied vocabulary while expressing their ideas clearly. We will focus on organising our writing into well-structured paragraphs, as well as improving grammar by using pronouns accurately and understanding the difference between plural and possessive forms. Throughout the term, children will also practise making thoughtful changes to their writing to improve consistency and clarity, helping them grow into confident and creative writers.
