Values and Ethos

Here at Brook Lodge we want our children to be MAGIC…

‘Motivated’  ‘Aspirational’   ‘Growing in..Independence and Confidence’

Our Behaviour for Learning policy encourages children to be motivated through their behaviours. We strive for well taught, engaging sequences of lessons that allow our children to want to learn and flourish.  We will always endeavour to challenge the children, helping and encouraging them to aspire to be the best that they can be and give them opportunities to develop both through the curriculum and through our wide extra-curricular offer in terms of confidence and independence.

As a staff, our aim in terms of educating and feedback is that we cater for every child’s needs, every day.  We will always endeavour to do this and firmly believe that marking and feedback needs to be as immediate as possible to be most effective.  Our policies and procedures are geared towards this and our expectations of children are that they engage with this.

All this is only possible if your child is safe, feels safe and is happy.  We take safeguarding very seriously and believe it should permeate throughout the school: in the curriculum where children are taught to keep themselves safe and be kind and respectful to others; within the security and safety of the site itself; with a well trained staff who know the processes and procedures to deal with any concerns and most importantly, in developing a culture within the school where everyone, be they children, parents or staff feels able to voice any concerns or worries they may have, knowing that these concerns will be listened to.
