Summer 2
Everyday Materials
In Science this half term, we will build on our previous learning about materials from earlier in the year. The children will take part in a range of practical investigations, exploring the properties of different materials and testing their suitability for various purposes. Through hands-on experiments, they will develop their scientific enquiry skills, make observations, and begin to draw conclusions from their findings.
Our learning objectives for each lesson are as follows:
Build a structure strong enough to withstand wind
Build a waterproof structure
Understand the properties of glass and its uses
Understand that materials are used to create a variety of furniture
Explore a variety of fabrics and understand their different properties
Explain uses of materials and why they are suitable
