Animals Including Humans - All About Animals

In Science this half term, we will be exploring one of our favourite topics – All About Animals. Over the coming weeks, the children will learn about different animal groups and how to sort them into categories such as mammals, birds, fish, reptiles and amphibians.

We are also very excited about our upcoming visit to Knowsley Safari Park at the end of the half term, which links closely to our learning. It will be a fantastic opportunity to bring the topic to life and celebrate all that the children have discovered.

Our learning objectives for each lesson are as follows: 

• Discover animal families
• Learn the differences between mammals and birds
• Learn the differences between amphibians, reptiles and fish
• Discover the types of food living things eat
• Explore the differences between wild animals and pets
• Explain the characteristics of an animal
