Literacy
This half-term, our dinosaur theme will guide a range of exciting literacy activities. Pupils will begin by exploring The Perfect Ribbit Tadpole to Frog, creating life cycle explanation texts. They will then read Harry and the Bucketful of Dinosaurs, reflecting on how Harry feels at different points in the story. Next, they will enjoy Happy Birthday Buddha, followed by Hide-a-Saurus, a number rhyme that explores different dinosaur environments, where children will write captions describing where each dinosaur hides. Pupils will also read Dinosaurs Love Underpants, describing the underpants their T-Rex is wearing and recounting their Imagine That trip with captions for photos. The term will finish with Fact File Dinosaurs and The Little Green Dinosaur, where children will create story maps, retell the story, and take on the challenge of independently writing a sentence under each part of the storyboard to explain what happened, using adverbials.
RWInc - Children will continue to bring home RWI materials to share with you at home. Please use reading records to communicate your child's progress with us.
